There is a secret in our
culture – it’s not that birth
is painful.  It’s that women
are strong.

About Me

My journey to becoming a doula and childbirth educator began in
mid 2007 when my husband and I found out that we were
expecting our first baby.  I, as most mothers-to-be, had never
heard of the word "doula."  Through my search on all things baby
and birth I was able to answer that question and found an amazing
childbirth preparation course called Hypnobabies.  My husband
was a little iffy about this, but I insisted, so we signed up for the six-
week course.  This is where my life changed, even more so than it
already had.  Our Hypnobabies instructor, who is also a doula,
opened our eyes to the amazing thing that birth is, that it can be
such an empowering event in a woman's life and that it truly is a
right of passage.  After we completed our six week Hypnobabies
course we asked our instructor to join us at the birth as our doula
and in April of 2008 she helped us welcome our beautiful and
amazing son into this world.  From that moment on, I knew that I
    wanted to
do what she did.  I want to help women have an amazing experience for every birth they have.  I
want to help women know that their bodies are perfectly made to birth and that the more we stay out
of the way of this natural process, the better the birth experience can be.

Since then I have completed my certification as a Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis Instructor
(HCHI) and HypnoDoula (HD) and I have been honored to serve several families through their
individual and beautiful birth journeys.
